**Studio Komplekt is happy to announce the Fourth Edition of Melba Sofia Design Festival.**
Melba Sofia Design Festival 2021 mixes meaningfully various spheres of design. Its program runs for 10 days and features a one-day International Symposium on 13th November, the annual exhibition Review of Bulgarian Design and other creative goodies like collaborations, workshops and exhibitions. The festival aims to inspire, to unite the public and to spark joy all around.
_ Héctor Ayuso is the founder and director of the famed award-winning OFFF festival, which has been inviting creative minds to come together and collaborate since 2000. Currently Héctor is also a content curator and consultant at Kickstarter.
All of Hector’s work is about creating unique experiences, no matter if generating ideas for brands like Redbull, Adobe, Dropbox, Audi and HP, or bringing to world’s attention the talent and the mind blowing projects of his design idols through events.
_ Aideen McCole manages and curates the 100 Archive, a platform for design in Ireland since 2012. A graduate of the Curating Contemporary Design MA at Kingston University and the Design Museum, London, she has worked with organisations such as the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Irish Architecture Foundation. She was a founding director of POST Design Festival, Copenhagen’s festival which interrogates the social, political and ethical facets of visual communication practice.
_ Herrmann & Coufal is a Czech design studio founded by two classmates while still studying at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. It started with one school assignment and beer(s). Since then, the portfolio has expanded by a variety of projects, especially in the field of product design.
The designs of Eduard Herrmann and Matěj Coufal are featured in the collections of leading Czech brands like LUCIS, Futuro, Master & Master, in urban public spaces, as well as in conceptual art installations. Over the years, they’ve been awarded the prestigious Red Dot Award in 2019 for sustainable street furniture for mmcité, Czech Grand Design Award in 2020, Elle Decoration International Award and others.
_ Mila Lozanova works in the field of illustration and poster design and her goal has always been to push the boundaries of creativity and create a bigger impact with her work. Her permanent job is the advertising agency McCann Sofia. Mila Lozanova has studied advertising design at the National Art Academy in Sofia, where she is also doing a PhD in art history and applied arts. She has won two awards at the International Triennial of Stage Poster. In the autumn of 2021, she boldly entered into a much bigger artistic scale by drawing a mural on a big wall in the centre of Sofia. The project called Art for Air would be one of the focuses of her presentation for the audience of Melba.
_ Patryk Hardziej is an internationally renowned, multidisciplinary illustrator, graphic designer and researcher. He is a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk and founder of the Art of Design courses and Karol Śliwka Foundation. He has collaborated with brands and institutions such as Amnesty International, British Airways, BMW, Levi’s, New Scientist Magazine, among others.
_ Prof. Claudia Schwarz has been teaching fashion management at the Mediadesign University of Applied Sciences in Munich since 2017. Her teaching focuses on topics, such as transformation research and sustainable supply chain management in relation to the global fashion business. Prior to that, Prof. Schwarz worked for 20 years in the private sector. Among other things, she worked as a VP of Product Development and Design in the golf and sportswear industry in Los Angeles and as a Design and Procurement Consultant for American and German businesses. For several years, she also ran her own label LUDWIG & SCHWARZ, collaborating with artists by developing a limited edition “Moving Canvas Collection”, made in Germany.
